Avoid Road Trip Nightmares – Create an Action Plan

Before you drive across the city or state, you must plan your route carefully, bring a map or look for roadside service companies in case you have troubles reaching your destination. In your route planning, check for some shortcuts as well as excellent roads to drive on. Road trips have many different sections that allow you to figure out the most suitable car to use. Driving without a well-prepared plan would only result to forgetting important stuff, causing you to return to the original location or buy the items in higher prices.

Roadside service plans are important because they allow you to enjoy a memorable road trip. If a blowout or car problem arises as you drive along, you want to be prepared. The following are some preparations you can make to ensure a hassle-free road trip.

For The Car

  1. The car that will be used for the trip must be checked by an auto mechanic ahead of time.
  2. Check car tire pressure and fluid levels.
  3. You must carry a spare tire as well in case your tires fall flat.
  4. If your battery is more that three years old, it makes sense to bring along a spare battery.
  5. Put flares, antenna, road blocks and window displays in your emergency kit.
  6. Make sure your car interiors are clean and a trash can is placed inside the car.
  7. In an envelope, put together all important documents such as proof of insurance, vehicle registration, driving license and other documents providing identification information.
  8. Make sure you are bringing a first aid kit containing ointments for insect bites, aspirin, medical plasters and gauze.
  9. Clear away the clutter to give passengers more leg room.
  10. To make sure you have enough space for your emergency and first aids, clear the trunk of the car as well.

For the Passengers

  1. Plan games that young passengers can play to keep them from getting bored during the road trip.
  2. Also bring in gadgets, food and refreshments, water, potties and picnics.
  3. Make sure you arrange breaks once in awhile to allow passengers to stretch and rest.
  4. For older passengers, bring good reading materials to keep them entertained.
  5. Don’t wait to get to the hotel before booking them. Reserve a room prior your arrival to make sure there is a room that is ready for accommodation.

Winter Driving

  1. Install some chains to get better grip on the snowy road.
  2. Bring blankets to keep passengers cozy and warm.
  3. Apart from bringing maps you can benefit well from signing up for a roadside service company. Roadside service providers (Føl dig tryg med auto hjælp is what the Danes call it  ) can assist you in all types of driving issues, from jumping start a car to towing.

Anyone the travels frequently on the road can confirm how important it is to have a road trip plan as well as a roadside service provider. Serious delays on business and holiday trips can instantly ruin your plans and at the same time add to your travel expenses.
